Need-to-Know Info

Interested in working with me? Great! Before we get started, there are a few things you should know.

Specialties

I specialize in romance of all kinds, especially contemporary romance, historical romance, fantasy romance, paranormal romance, and erotic romance. I’m also well-versed in taking fan fiction or other online work (like original stories on Wattpad, for example) to a published book.

Please note that I will not edit stories featuring dubious consent, rape romance, torture, incest, or bestiality, or stories that overtly or tacitly endorse hatred or discrimination toward any group based on race, creed, sexual orientation, disability, or other quality. Dark romance is not one of my specialties so I would usually prefer not to edit them (but you can try me!). I also don’t love when protagonists cheat in their relationship, so I’m probably not the editor for you if you have that plot point in your book.

Sample Edits

Yes, I offer them! I think a sample edit is such an important starting point for the author-editor relationship. For potential clients who are interested in working with me, I’m happy to do a sample edit of ten to fifteen double-spaced pages in Times New Roman 12pt font. This helps me get a sense of how you write, gives you a sense of how I edit, and shows both of us if we’ll work well together.

Referrals

I so appreciate your support! When you refer a friend to me and they become a client of mine, you’ll get 10% off your next editing project with me as a thank you.

Payment

I accept payment by credit card (PayPal or Stripe); if you are Canadian, we can also do an e-transfer. Half of the balance is due up front to secure your start date, and the other half is due when all my work is completed.

If you have to cancel or postpone editing less than 14 days before the start date, the deposit is forfeit. A new date will be scheduled at my discretion, and a new deposit will be due.
